Moto2: Aoyama maintains Sepang pole
Hiroshi Aoyama maintained his pole position despite failing to improve his time in the second 250cc qualifying session at the Malaysian Grand Prix
Aoyama was one of fourteen riders who failed to improve his time in today's session which was held on a dry track, but appeared to lack a small amount of grip after rain earlier today.
Alvaro Bautista remained second on the grid, while Marco Simoncelli went a quarter of a second faster in the final minute of the session to move up one place, pushing Aoyama's KTM teammate Mika Kallio down one place to fourth.
Thai rider Ratthapark Wilairot remained fifth fastest ahead of Aleix Espargaro in sixth. Julian Simon and Yuki Takahashi qualified seventh and eighth, the only other riders in the top ten to improve their time, Simon gaining five places while Takahashi lost one despite a better time.
Mattia Pasini also improved his time from yesterday but like Takahashi slipped a place, falling from tenth to eleventh.
