Takuma Sato fastest in rain-affected second practice session at Barber
Heavy rain resulted in a wash-out of Friday's second IndyCar practice session at Barber Motorsports Park, although Takuma Sato was quickest of the drivers who did venture out to brave the conditions
The Rahal Letterman Lanigan racer set a best time of 1m18.8684s, although he only completed three laps before retreating to the team trailer. Dragon's Sebastien Bourdais was second-fastest with a time 0.4 slower than that set by Sato, with Ganassi's Scott Dixon rounding out the top three.
Few cars completed more than a handful of laps, and some - including this morning's pacesetter Will Power, his Penske team-mates Ryan Briscoe and Helio Castroneves, Schmidt-Hamilton's Simon Pagenaud and AJ Foyt Racing's Mike Conway, did not even leave the pitlane.
Dry weather is forecast for the rest of the weekend.
