Fisher to race at Chicagoland
Sarah Fisher is to continue with her return to the IRL and will race at the championship finale at Chicagoland next month
Following a 12th-place finish in the Meijer Indy 300 in Kentucky last weekend, Dreyer & Reinbold Racing officials announced that Fisher will drive the No. 5 Dallara in the Peak Antifreeze Indy 300 on September 10.
Australian Ryan Briscoe will be back in the car for the penultimate round of the championship at Sears Point later this month.
"We are looking forward to Chicago," team co-owner Dennis Reinbold said. "We will be working hard between now and then to get (Fisher) a very good race car that we can go make some noise with."
Fisher is hoping the experience she gained from last weekend's Kentucky race will help her in Chicagoland.
"We had a little bit of trouble with straight lines," she said. "I don't know if we put on too much downforce or what. We'll review that and try and figure it out. We had a good race car down low, and I got a run on some guys.
"The draft now is different when they cut you off; so that is something I'll have to think about for the next go-around."
