Fisher gets late call-up
Female racer Sarah Fisher has landed a drive for this year's Indianapolis 500 with Dreyer & Reinbold Racing. She will team up with Robbie Buhl in a Dallara-Infiniti with sponsorship from allergy drug Allegra
Fisher's up and down Indy Racing League career has seen her earn two podium finishes. But she appeared to lose confidence after a crash in the 2001 Indianapolis 500.
Earlier this year, Fisher sued to get released from her contract with Walker Racing. The 21-year old subbed for the injured Buhl at the IRL's Nazareth race and finished a career-boosting fourth.
"Dreyer & Reinbold offers two things that are really important to me," Fisher stated. "Robbie Buhl is a good team-mate, someone who will share everything with you and help you along. I'll admit I'm young. I have a lot to learn and being a one-car team is very difficult for that to happen."
"Sarah brings exceptional talent to the race team," said Buhl. "We hope to further her development as a driver and reap the benefits from the synergies of a two-car team. I know she has been anxious to hit the track this week, and we're confident in our team effort to get up to speed."
