Duno moves to Coyne for 2010
Milka Duno will move to Dale Coyne Racing for the 2010 IndyCar Series season
The Venezuelan has previously contested partial campaigns with the SAMAX and Dreyer & Reinbold teams, but this will be her first attempt at the full championship.
Duno believes that running in every round will help improve her performances and get her closer to the pace.
"For the past three seasons I've only run partial schedules and I'm anxious to be competing in all the races this year," she said. "Doing so builds momentum and maintains consistency that I feel is a key factor to good results.
"The full schedule includes seven races at tracks that I have yet to compete on so I will be doing my absolute best to learn these new tracks as quickly as possible. This full season will be challenging - but I'm very thankful for the opportunity."
Team boss Dale Coyne added that getting Duno up to speed on road courses was a key aim.
"We have seen Milka's competitiveness on the ovals and now we look forward to focusing on the road course effort on a full time basis in 2010," he said.
Coyne will return to a two-car line-up this year, and will announce its second driver next week ready for the season-opener in Brazil. Indy Lights champion JR Hildegrand tested for the team at Sebring last month.
Duno's Coyne deal means that at least five female drivers will race in IndyCar this year. Danica Patrick and Atlantic graduate Simona de Silvestro have full-time seats at Andretti Autosport and HVM Racing respectively, Sarah Fisher is contested a part-season with her own team, and Ana Beatriz will drive a third Dreyer & Reinbold car in Sao Paulo and hopes to stay on for additional races.
