Conquest to test Camara next week
Conquest Racing will test Jaime Camara at Homestead-Miami Speedway next week as they continue to evaluate potential drivers for the coming IndyCar season
The team endured a difficult transition from Champ Car to IndyCar last season, but team owner Eric Bachelart is confident that the year's experience will help them to take a step forward in 2009.
"We learned a lot over the course of 2008 and we've been pretty busy working on developments that will enhance the team's performance," he said. "Now we're looking forward to evaluating them on track as we continue to prepare for the start of the season in less than two months."
Camara took over from Franck Perera at Conquest after five races last year, while Enrique Bernoldi drove the team's second entry for the majority of the season until he was replaced by Alex Tagliani for the final two races.
"We wanted to put someone in the car that knew how we worked, knew our car and would be able to help us evaluate the development we have done," added Bachelart. "Since he drove the majority of the ovals for us last year, Jaime was the perfect fit."
