FAZZT to sit out Barber test
Alex Tagliani's new FAZZT team will skip this week's IndyCar test at Barber Motorsports Park as it feels the anticipated bad weather will prevent it from getting much meaningful running at the Alabama road course
FAZZT has conducted several private tests since it was formed last year, and team manager Rob Edwards reckons this week will be better spent working at its Indianapolis factory than on-track at Barber.
"We are in the fortunate position of having had very successful tests at Homestead and Sebring in January," Edwards explained.
"Since those tests, our engineers have continued testing on the seven-post rig, gearbox rig and in the wind tunnel to further develop our race package.
"Given the inclement weather forecast for Barber over the next few days and after much discussion, we believe the best use of our time is to continue our preparations for Brazil here in Indianapolis."
The two days at Barber tomorrow and Thursday are the only pre-season group test scheduled for the IndyCar Series this season, with the usual winter oval test having been put back to May, just before the start of the Indianapolis 500 build-up.
