Viso to test for KV at Sebring
EJ Viso is to test for KV Racing Technology at Sebring on Monday with a view to joining the team for the 2010 IndyCar Series
The 24-year-old Venezuelan has driven for HVM for the past two years, but parted company with Keith Wiggins' squad at the end of 2009.
Although Viso made a promising start to his IndyCar career with seven top ten finishes in his rookie season, he had a luckless '09 campaign - retiring from the first seven rounds and only once breaking into the top ten.
"EJ is an outstanding driver," said KV general manager Mark Johnson. "We have been in discussions with him for several weeks about possibly joining KV Racing Technology for the 2010 IndyCar Series season. Testing him at Sebring seemed like the next logical step in that process."
Viso hopes he can complete a deal with the team if the test is successful.
"KVRT is an outstanding team and one that is very competitive," he said. "I look forward to showing them what I can do during the test and hopefully everything will go well so we can all move forward toward racing together in 2010."
KV ran Mario Moraes for the full season in 2009, with Paul Tracy driving a second car in a limited programme. Both its 2009 drivers have also been linked with KV drives for 2010, as has former Formula 1 racer Takuma Sato.
