Will Power heads Ryan Briscoe in Penske 1-2 at Sears Point
Team Penske held sway on the opening day of practice for this weekend's IndyCar race at Sears Point, with Will Power and Ryan Briscoe setting the two fastest times
Power had led the session early on, but he made the spot his own in the final minutes with a best lap of 1m18.6887s.
Team-mate and compatriot Briscoe, who also spent a stint at the top of the screens, finished up 0.1895 seconds short of Power's time.
Simon Pagenaud, Dario Franchitti and Rubens Barrichello rounded out the top five, with Sebastien Bourdais being bumped down to sixth after having led the times with four minutes remaining.
Two red flags interrupted the session courtesy of spins from Charlie Kimball, who returns to the cockpit this weekend after missing the previous race at Mid-Ohio with a hand injury, and Josef Newgarden.
