Matt Brabham gets Andretti Indy Lights seat for 2014

Matt Brabham will move up to Indy Lights in 2014 with Andretti Autosport

Brabham dominated this year's Pro Mazda championship, winning 13 of the 16 races, and he said that he was looking forward to taking the next step on the IndyCar development ladder.

"It's fantastic, and to have a deal sorted out so early in the year for next year is wonderful," said Brabham.

"It gives me more time to prepare and really get everything ready and have a strong assault at the championship."

Team owner Michael Andretti said that he is confident that Brabham, son of Geoff and grandson of Jack, can make an immediate impact in Lights.

"I think he has been impressive ever since he came into the ladder system," Andretti said. "We talked him into coming over to our side last year and he did an unbelievable job, winning 13 of 16 races.

"We're so happy to have him continue with us going forward, and hopefully getting him to IndyCars. We have really high expectations for next year."

Andretti also confirmed that rookie Zach Veach, who took his first career Indy Lights pole at Fontana this weekend, will return for a second season with the team next year.

"I think we have a really good shot [at the championship next year]," Andretti said.

"Zach has come a long way and I think there will be a lot of thing he can help Matt with, with the experience that he has gained this year.

"I look forward to seeing them work together because I think it will be a great team."
