Daniel Lloyd to make US sportscar debut in Petit Le Mans

The 22-year-old Briton, who graduated to international sportscar racing this season after finishing fourth in last year's Porsche Carrera Cup GB, will race a Porsche 911 GT America for the Mulhner Motorsports America team with as yet undisclosed team-mates.

Lloyd said: "We only did the deal last night [Sunday], so it's all pretty last minute but incredibly exciting - I can't wait."

"I don't know who my team-mates are going to be yet, but the main aim is to go out there and try to showcase what I can do."

One of Lloyd's team-mates will be American Mark Kvamme, who raced for Mulhner earlier in the year, and the second is set to be decided tomorrow.

Lloyd started the season in the Blancpain Sprint Series with the Bhaitech McLaren team, before parting company with the Italian squad after three rounds. He also contested the Silverstone and Spa 24 Hours Blancpain Endurance Series rounds with the Beechdean Aston Martin team.

Fellow countryman Alessandro Latif, who is racing full time in the BSS this year with the Phoenix Audi squad, will continue his association with Flying Lizard Motorsport.

The 18-year-old, who drove for the Lizards at the Daytona and Sebring enduros, will share one of its Audi R8 with team boss Seth Neiman and Dion von Moltke.

Ho-Pin Tung has joined the OAK Racing line-up for Petit, alongside Alex Brundle and Gustavo Yacaman, and will be reunited with the HPD-engined Ligier JSP2 he raced at the Le Mans 24 Hours.

IndyCar drivers Sebastien Bourdais and Scott Dixon return to the USC to take up their places with the Action Express and Chip Ganassi Racing Prototype teams.

Dixon moves across to Ganassi's solo Riley-Ford EcoBoost DP alongside full-season drivers Scott Pruett and Memo Rojas after driving the sister car at Daytona and Sebring.

Ryan Briscoe, who drove for Corvette Racing at the season-opening enduros, returns to the team and is listed in both Chevrolets for the 1000-mile event.

Outgoing DTM champion Mike Rockenfeller also returns to the series in the Spirit of Daytona Coyote-Chevrolet Corvette DP as scheduled.
