Van de Poele signs for Barbour squad

Dick Barbour Racing has signed ex-Formula 1 driver Eric van de Poele for its two-car attack on the LMP675 class of the American Le Mans Series

He will partner fellow Belgian Didier de Radigues in the team's lead Reynard 01Q-Judd, beginning at the Donington Park round of the ELMS on April 14.

They join a second car for female racer Milka Duno of Venezuela and Canadian John Graham, who won last year's LMP675 class at Le Mans.

"Eric brings us a special level of talent and experience to the prototype category and we are happy to have him on board," said team boss Dick Barbour, whose outfit is graduating from the GT class after winning the ALMS title last year.

"I've enjoyed working with the world's best sportscar and endurance drivers over the years and I've just added another to that list," he added.

After concluding his F1 career in 1993, Van de Poele has won the Sebring 12 Hours on two occasions, won the LMP1 class at Le Mans and the inaugural Petit Le Mans at Road Atlanta.
