Qualifying: Lister takes pole
The British Lister marque has high hopes for victory in the opening round of the FIA GT Championship, after Jamie Campbell-Walter put his Storm on pole position at Magny-Cours on Saturday
The former champion had topped every practice before the Superpole session and duly dominated that too. His time of 1m33.974s was 0.6sec faster than reigning FIA GT champ Christophe Bouchut could manage in Larbre Competition's Chrysler Viper.
Bouchut in turn was more than half a second clear of his team-mate Vincent Vosse in another Viper. Fabio Babini was next up for Paul Belmondo Racing, ahead of the second Lister of Bobby Verdon-Roe.
Former Grand Prix driver Philippe Alliot missed out on taking part in the Superpole session because of a timing mix-up. He will start his Ferrari 550 Maranello sixth in Sunday's three-hour race.
Christian Pescatori claimed pole postition in the secondary N-GT class in his JMB Racing Ferrari 360 Modena. He was only six thousandths of a second faster than Stephane Ortelli's Friesinger Porsche.
