Maassen signs up with Barbour for Le Mans
Quick German racer Sascha Maassen will drive Dick Barbour's Reynard 01Q in this year's Le Mans 24 Hours
Maassen will share the car, which is making its debut this weekend in the Donington ELMS opener, with Eric van de Poele and Didier de Radigues. This will be only his second drive in a prototype sportscar, his first coming in last year's ELMS round at the Nurburgring where he shared a Konrad Lola with Jurgen von Gartzen and finished third.
Maassen also drove for Barbour last year in its successful GT category campaign, finishing second in the points standings to team mate Dirk Muller.
"I am really happy to be back with Dick Barbour Racing," said Maassen. "Now it doesn't feel like I've been away. I'm very glad to be doing Le Mans with partners like Eric and Didier. This is a team effort I'm really looking forward to."
Barbour said: "Sascha was one of my boys last year and his experience will really benefit our effort at Le Mans."
