Frank Biela Q&A
Audi have looked dominant over the last two rounds of the ALMS, but for Sunday's race at Mosport it's Frank Biela who leads the charge after taking pole on Saturday. Autosport.com caught up with the German to assess his chances for the race and for the championship
"After such a hard time in Sears, it's good to see we are competitive here. We never doubted it, because we know that you don't suddenly forget how to drive for one weekend, but we had to prove it."
"We had the possibility to test on Monday and that helped at lot. Allan had previous experience of Sears Points, whereas Emanuele and myself didn't. We had to learn the circuit in the first couple of sessions, while Allan was doing his set-up work. We were always behind, and once you get into qualifying you don't get much chance to change the car."
"I am worried about that because we really struggled at the Nurburgring. We have a few ideas as to why it was the case, so we're optimistic we can be as competitive as we are in the dry."
"I'm sure we have. We have a very good chance of winning the race here. The other thing is that at Sears Point and here the BMW has been off the pace, which should make it easier for us to catch up. But we shouldn't forget about the Panoz. What Jan Magnussen did today [in qualifying second] was quite impressive."
