Corvette, Lamborghini disqualified

The first-placed Chevrolet Corvette and third-placed Lamborghini Murcielago have been disqualified from Sunday's FIA GT race at Oschersleben

The Corvette, driven by Anthony Kumpen and Bert Longin, and the Lamborghini, driven by Stefen Mucke and Christophe Bouchut, were disqualified after post-race scrutineering discovered problems with the legality of each of the cars.

The Corvette was disqualified after it was discovered size of the fuel tank exceeded what it was permitted under the regulations, while the gearbox in the Lamborghini was found not to conform to the regulations governing it.

This promotes the Vitaphone Maserati of Michael Bartels and Thomas Biagi to victory ahead of the Playteam Maserati of Andrea Bertolini and Andrea Piccini, with the Aston Martin of Jamie Davies and Fabio Babini completing the podium.

All other finishers move up two places from their original finishing position.

These changes to the results have changed the order in the championship, Biagi now holding an eight point advantage over fellow Maserati drivers Bertolini and Piccini, with six drivers a further three points behind.

Revised results:
