Boullion joins Mowlem for Petit Le Mans

Briton Johnny Mowlem could be set for his best ever finish in the blue-riband Petit Le Mans sportscar race, having been teamed with ex-Sauber Formula 1 star Jean-Christophe Boullion

The Frenchman has joined Mowlem's regular American Le Mans Series team Petersen Motorsport for the October 6 event at Road Atlanta. The pair will be taking on the four BMW M3 GTRs that have dominated the GT class in the ALMS this season.

Mowlem is looking forward to partnering Boullion and believes their Porsche GT3-RS will be able to take on the BMWs over the 10 hour race.

"Jean-Christophe has a great reputation and it will be an honour to race with him," said Mowlem. "I reckon the last time we raced in the same event was at the Formula Ford Festival in 1990, when we shared the fastest lap in a quarter final!

"We'll have a reasonable chance over 10 hours at Petit Le Mans. We'll need a bit of luck and the Alex Job Racing Porsche team will be strong as well, but any one of us could win the class. If we managed to finish fifth at Laguna Seca over three hours, we definitely have a chance of a podium over 10 hours."
