Information
Well... how was that for a Friday morning wake-up call? And the action will continue all day long. Next up are Formula Juniors from 1958 - 1962. These lightweight and initially affordable cars were intended to be a first step on the ladder for young racers, and produced wheel-to-wheel racing. There are a mere 30 on the entry list this weekend...
Remember the earlier mentioned Hadfield and Friedrichs? They quietly finished the session in fourth place in their Aston Martin DB4GT, and will be dangerous in the race later.
Checkered flag
POLE for Rob Huff who sets a time of 1m 48.236s to demote Tom Kristensen.
Huff remains third, but a mere 0.071s behind Greensall. Three Jaguar E-Types battling for pole!
Kristensen's time, impressive as it was, might be in danger as Greensall and Huff hunt the Dane's time down. Greensall comes within 0.3s of pole!
Nigel Greensall pops up into second place, but Rob Huff continues to find time, and quickly demotes him.
Stopwatch
WOW! Mr Le Mans, Tom Kristensen, sets a time of 1m 48.341s, 1.7s faster than Phil Keen.
All eyes on Tom Kristensen who has set two purple sectors...
Green flag
And we're back underway, with time for a handful of flying laps to try and climb the grid for this evening's race into darkness.
Information
While we're paused, Autosport editor Kevin Turner asks: why does Autosport give the Goodwood Revival, in particular, so much coverage? You can read his excellent piece here:

Red flag
The session is stopped as Alain de Cadenet has dropped the Ferrari 250 GT SWB into the gravel traps at Lavant. There's 8m 12s remaining...
Clearly British cars are the ones to have in these difficult conditions, as there are eight Jaguar E-Types in the top nine places.
Stopwatch
Fastest time so far is 1m 50.126s by Phil Keen, who jumps ahead of the fellow E-Type of Andrew Smith and James Cottingham.
Both drivers need to complete three laps to satisfy qualifying requirements. As we approach the halfway mark in this session, cars are coming into the pits for the second driver to climb aboard.
There's a number of strong driver pairings in this Kinrara Trophy, including British GT race winners Phil Keen and Jon Minshaw in a Jaguar E-Type. Keep an eye on Wolfgang Friedrichs and Simon Hadfield in an Aston Martin DB4GT as they are a rapid duo in historic racing.
Drivers are getting up to speed in these tricky conditions, but with only 30 minutes in this session time is a premium. A few competitors have already been off track as they push these wonderful machines.
Good morning from RAF Westhampnett, otherwise known as Goodwood Circuit, as the 2017 Revival gets underway. There's no easing into this damp Friday morning as qualifying is underway for this evening's Kinrara Trophy for pre-'63 closed-cockpit GT cars.
Autosport Live's coverage of the 2017 Goodwood Revival commences in earnest at 9.45am UK time ahead of the start of Friday's track action, but in the meantime enjoy live video of all the preliminary events from the paddock.
