Yvan Muller joins RoC field
World Touring Car Championship star Yvan Muller has been added to the 2007 Race of Champions line-up
Muller, who will be competing in the event for the third time, is to represent France alongside Formula One-bound Champ Car champion Sebastien Bourdais.
"It's become an important date in a driver's season," Muller said. "The RoC has been going for the past 20 years and gets bigger every time. To have places like the Stade de France and Wembley Stadium host it is a huge deal.
"All drivers see it as an important weekend and to be invited means that you are regarded as being part of the best in motorsport. It means a lot."
This year's RoC - the first to take place at Wembley - will be held on 16 December.
Muller goes into this weekend's WTCC finale at Macau sharing the points lead with reigning champion Andy Priaulx.
He added that he was particularly pleased to have another chance to compete against sometime karting rivals like David Coulthard, Michael Schumacher and Tom Kristensen at the RoC.
"Coulthard, Kristensen and Schumacher are all from the same generation as me," said Muller. "We used to race each other in karts and have all progressed to different areas of motorsport since, so it's great to find each other on track again."
