Wilux steps up Minardi F1 sponsorship

Wilux Minardi Cosworth is the new title of the Anglo-Italian F1 team, which has secured an increased sponsorship from Wilux Benelux, the Netherlands based manufacturer of baths and shower cubicles. Wilux, which operates design facilities in Italy, entered F1 with the Faenza team in 2003 and MD Ruud Wildschut attributes a 40 percent sales increase during the year partly to brand recognition from its involvement

"Sports sponsorship is nothing new for Wilux, because the company has been involved with motorcycle racing and Dutch Premier League football in recent years," he commented. "Significantly, however, last year's cooperation with Minardi marked the first occasion that our company had been involved at the highest level of sports sponsorship - F1 - and the results have been truly amazing. It is impossible to ignore the increased sales of Wilux products during the relatively short time we have been involved with Minardi, or the huge levels of goodwill that have very clearly been generated with our customers as a direct result of this sponsorship."

Wilux Benelux has an annual turnover of some ?60m, employs 180 staff and exports bathroom equipment to 28 countries worldwide.
