Verstappen Ready for Test

Jos Verstappen has admitted that he is already impressed with what he has found in Champ Cars, ahead of his first test with HVM at Sebring on Wednesday.

The Dutchman, who has not raced since he drove for Minardi in Formula 1 in 2003, flew into America earlier this week and visited the team during its set-up preparations at Sebring yesterday.

Speaking about his first impressions of the Champ Car series, Verstappen said: "It's less distant than Formula 1. Everyone talks with each other, just like friends, and there are no formal things.

"It's completely different to what we are used to. There is no pit garage, but just a couple of those extra large trucks with tents built against them."

Verstappen has never driven at Sebring before and, prior to his first run in a Champ Car, he spent much of Tuesday making minor tweaks to his car and seat position to make sure he is more than ready to impress during the test.

"I have spoken with the engineers and we have studied the data," he said. "After some deliberation we decided that we needed to do some tweaking on the car.

"My seat is almost ready, it only needs some filing to make it perfect. We also needed to change the position of the steering wheel and it was the same for the pedals. It's only fractions that have been changed but they are very important for the ideal seating position."
