Reid heads final free practice

New Zealand's Jonny Reid set the pace in the final A1GP free practice session ahead of qualifying at the Shanghai circuit

Reid set his best time of 1:35.878 early in the session, which was relatively uneventful as the field lapped slower than they did in Friday's free practice.

Malaysia's former Grand Prix driver Alex Yoong did well to go second quickest. He set his fastest time just 10 minutes after a startling moment when the main plane of his rear wing flew off at the end of the start/finish straight.

"The rear wing was a bit scary," he said. "I thought I'd had a puncture at first. It's not something you want to happen again."

Sebastien Buemi improved on his Friday form to go third fastest in the Swiss car. India's Narain Karthikeyan and the USA's Jonathan Summerton were fourth and fifth, as they were yesterday, ahead of Friday pacesetter Robbie Kerr.

Team Germany's Nico Hulkenberg, who is on course to clinch the World Cup of Motorsport title this weekend, remains uncharacteristically off the pace. He was ninth fastest, just ahead of home nation driver Franky Cheng.
