Racing review: All the results
AUTOSPORT brings you the definitive who won what, and where, round-up from throughout the racing world last weekend
At the start of the season few would have predicted that come July Tony Stewart would be stretching his points lead with a second NASCAR Sprint Cup race win of his first year as an owner/driver, or that Justin Wilson would be taking Dale Coyne's team of hard-working underdogs to IndyCar Series victory at Watkins Glen - but that's what happened in a dramatic weekend of American motorsport.
While Wilson took control early on at the Glen then resisted the might of Penske and Ganassi all afternoon, Stewart's win was only secured on the last lap, and in typically eventful fashion as a tangle with Kurt Busch sent the latter into the wall and triggered carnage in the winner's wake.
Plenty of destruction in the World Touring Car Championship's Porto races too, with the chaos almost as notable as the heavy use of team orders that got title contenders Augusto Farfus and Yvan Muller to the front in race two after Gabriele Tarquini's race one win.
MotoGP also produced an accident-packed weekend, and a surprise victory for Dani Pedrosa, who ended Honda's long losing streak by narrowly beating the Yamahas.
