Racing review: All the results
AUTOSPORT brings you the definitive who won what, and where, round-up from throughout the racing world last weekend
For the third IndyCar Series race in a row, Ryan Briscoe dominated only to find himself second - as this time it was Dario Franchitti who jumped him at the final stops and grabbed victory at Iowa.
A similar scenario unfolded as NASCAR made its first road course appearance of 2009, with Kasey Kahne surprising himself as he snatched the Sonoma win from championship leader Tony Stewart.
Probably the biggest shock of the weekend came in the first Silverstone GP2 race, where Alberto Valerio took a commanding maiden victory as Romain Grosjean slumped. The sprint saw another South American success, this time Pastor Maldonado leading from lights to flag.
Amid chaos and carnage at Brno, Roberto Ravaglia's BMW Italy-Spain team enjoyed a superb World Touring Car weekend, with Alex Zanardi taking a popular race one win and his team-mate Sergio Hernandez scoring his first victory in race two.
Formula 2 was barely any less eventful, and with Valencia dominator Robert Wickens hitting trouble, fellow Red Bull protege and Brno race one winner Mirko Bortolotti now heads the standings, despite spinning out of race two, won by ex-GP2 man Andy Soucek.
