Planned third round cancelled
A1GP has announced that it has been unable to find a circuit to host the planned Asian race in early November
The slot on the calendar for the third round of the series had remained empty for a long time, and series officials have now dropped the date from the calendar, reducing this season's schedule to 10 events.
"A1GP regret to announce the withdrawal of the planned third leg of the 2007/8 season from the calendar," said a statement from the series.
"Despite ongoing discussions with various circuits across Asia, the series has been unable to reach a satisfactory agreement with an appropriate circuit allowing it to proceed with the scheduled event on 2-4 November."
The series will now have a six-week gap between its second round in Brno on October 14, and the next race which takes place at Sepang on November 25.
A change to the date for the second Chinese race of the season was also announced. The race at Shanghai has been moved from April 6 to April 13 to better coincide with other regional events.
