Penske Porsche front row at Mid-Ohio
The Penske Porsches have claimed the front row for the Acura Sports Car Challenge at Mid-Ohio
Romain Dumas and Timo Bernhard beat their teammates Sascha Maassen by a quarter of a second to secure an all-Porsche front row, with Luis Diaz and Adrian Fernandez in the lead Acura making it three P2 cars at the front of the grid.
First Audi, and first P1 car was Allan McNish and Rinaldo Capello's Audi R10 TDI in fourth, nearly a second slower than the Porsche's pole time, with the second Audi down in eighth position.
Fastest in GT1 was Johnny O'Connell and Jan Magnussen's Corvette C6.R, but it failed post-qualifying inspection and so will start from the rear of the grid. Instead, the sister Corvette of Olivier Beretta and Oliver Gavin was fastest GT1, and in fact the only other GT1 car in the field.
Finally, the GT2 class pole was taken by Jaime Melo and Mika Salo in thir Ferrari 430GT, their closest rival another 430GT in the shape of Dirk Muller and Tomas Enge.
