Penske pair top warm-up

The Penske team dominated the warm-up for this evening Nazareth round of the CART Championship Series

Penske pair top warm-up

Helio Castro Neves was fastest, narrowly ahead of team-mate and fellow Brazilian Gil de Ferran. The team-by-team symmetry was completed by Player's/Forsythe pair Alex Tagliani and Patrick Carpentier in third and fourth. The latter is making his CART comeback after missing three races with a broken wrist.

Juan Montoya and Christian Fittipaldi, who will start the race from the front row, were back in ninth and 15th places respectively. Points leader Paul Tracy was sixth quickest.

The qualifying order for the race was decided back in April, when the meeting was originally scheduled to take place. However, heavy snowfall on race day forced the event to be postponed until today. The qualifying positions earned in April will still apply for today's race.

The one-time Schumacher rival rebooting his career Down Under

Joey Mawson made waves in the middle of the last decade, beating future Haas Formula 1 driver Mick Schumacher - among other highly-rated talents - to the 2016 German F4 title. A run in F1's feeder GP3 category only caused his career to stall, but now back in Australia Mawson's S5000 title success has set that to rights
