Pakistan withdraw from first event

Team Pakistan have withdrawn from the A1GP season opener at Zandvoort, citing problems with the new chassis

The squad were one of several teams who only received their new car on the eve of the Netherlands event, and driver Adam Khan encountered issues during a shakedown test at Snetterton this week.

"During this initial test session the Pakistan crew found that the constraints of the chassis from a technical perspective compromised Khan's safety in the car and the team reluctantly made the decision to delay their return to the track," said a team statement.

The Pakistan team remain confident that they will be on the grid for the next round in China next month.

"I know that A1GP will work to rectify this situation and ensure that we'll be able to join for the second round," said Khan.

Seventeen of the 23 A1GP teams have made it to the Zandvoort event, although not all of them have yet turned a lap in free practice.
