New faces at Rockingham
Luck, who has campaigned the distinctive DART in the Classic Clubmans Championship in recent seasons, will drive the ex-Tony King car for Phil Weaver's Team Catchpole, while Carrera will pilot the ex-Scott Racing Kieran Dynes car for the Kidd-Richardson Racing squad
Luck said: "Testing went very well indeed. The car had a good basic
set-up, and the team has given it a thorough going over since getting the car and we set some good times.
"When I first drove one of these I was prepared just to say no if I didn't like it, but I have developed a real taste for it. And in these cars you really have to want to do it."
Carrera, who completed rookie training along with Luck earlier this month, will be contesting his first full season since racing in the MGF Cup five years ago.
Carrera, who was happy with his first test despite a late encounter with the Turn 4 wall, said: "The test went very well, and we got down into the 36-second bracket. Hopefully, we have the pace to fight for the top 10. My target is to be in the top 10 in the standings, and I don't want to make any predictions beyond that!
"Most of the time when I was testing I was out on the track alone, but I can't imagine what it's going to be like with 16 cars all around me."
Also present at the test were series veteran John Steward, who will return to Days of Thunder in his privately-run car, and Anthony Swan, who has yet to secure a drive but carried out shakedown work in Ian McKellar Jr's Torquespeed car.
