NASCAR joins MIA membership
NASCAR joined the Motorsport Industry Association (MIA) increasing the trade association's members to nearly 300. Most members are drawn from the UK motorsport sector, but an increasing number of overseas motorsport organisations are now joining the MIA to establish or extend their international trade ties
"The USA is the UK motorsport industry's principal export market and NASCAR is singularly the most influential organisation in US motorsport," said MIA's chief executive Chris Aylett. "There are substantial mutual advantages for MIA members to work more closely with NASCAR, as well as with the many teams and suppliers involved in all their race series. We are very ambitious about helping NASCAR work alongside UK members large and small to achieve their respective business aims, here and in the USA."
Other organisations to have joined the MIA in 2004 include: Nicholson McLaren Engines, Piper Design, JE Engineering, Primose Engineering, Juno Racing, Edwards Hospitality Services, Group Lotus, G&S Valves, Oasis Europe, Knockhill Racing Circuit, Dependable Real Time Systems and QM Engineering.
