NASCAR College Tour in 2004

The 2004 programme details for the NASCAR College Tour have been finalised. In a joint effort, the US stock car body and the Coca-Cola Company visit historically African-American colleges and universities and Hispanic-serving institutions to build awareness about the motorsport industry and its career opportunities. Students meet leading industry representatives and learn more about these careers from an insider's perspective.

The 'NASCAR College Tour presented by Coca-Cola' is a component of NASCAR's Diversity Initiative, which also includes a Diversity Council, made up of a cross-section of the motorsport industry; support of Drive for Diversity, a programme managed by Access Marketing & Communications that seeks to develop African-American, Hispanic and female drivers and crew members; an internship programme that provides up to 33 students with paid positions providing an opportunity to learn about and gain experience in the motorsport industry; the NASCAR Technical Institute, which trains future automotive technicians; support of the Urban Youth Racing School; and scholarships to the United Negro College Fund and the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities for students pursuing engineering and sports management careers.
