Motorsport Valley targets US

Record numbers of companies in the UK's 'Motorsport Valley' are seeking to develop export sales to the USA, the world's largest market for motorsport products and services, according to the Motorsport Industry Association. Fresh from its biggest yet US trade mission, supported by UK Trade & Investment, the MIA is organising two more such missions in 2004, to the SEMA Show in Las Vegas, NV (November 2-5) and the PRI Trade Show in Indianapolis, IN (December 9-11)

Chris Aylett, the MIA's CEO, noted: "The buying power of the teams and organisers we met is truly enormous this latest mission included visits to NASCAR¹s Nextel All-Star Challenge and the IRL's Indy 500, two events in one week which alone were attended by nearly 500,000 paying visitors. However, in commercial terms the UK is still barely scratching the surface. Ample business opportunities remain there for good products and services from 'Motorsport Valley' companies. This is a dynamic, results-driven motorsport market which is ready and willing to work with UK suppliers, large and small."
