Miki Monras sets pace at Barcelona in wet first practice

Silverstone race-winner Miki Monras set the pace in first practice for the Formula 2 finale at Catalunya this weekend

The 19-year-old Spaniard made the most of the wet conditions to top the session by half a second with a of 2m02.568s, ahead of new champion Mirko Bortolotti and Jack Clarke.

Early session pacesetter Mikkel Mac was fourth fastest ahead of Kelvin Snoeks, Tobias Hegewald and Benjamin Lariche.

Christopher Zanella, former McLaren AUTOSPORT BRDC Award finalist James Cole and Mihai Marinescu completed the top 10.

The session was briefly red-flagged halfway through to recover the crashed car of Russian driver Max Snegirev.
