Indonesia fastest in practice 1
Indonesia's Ananda Mikola topped the times after a slippery first practice session for the A1 GP street race in Durban, South Africa
The circuit was damp from the start to the end of the session, which was the first time any of the drivers had used the narrow, bumpy seafront track.
Despite a general air of caution amongst the competitors, Team Canada and Team Lebanon both hit the wall and caused red flags. Team Ireland also had a long wait at Turn 1 after spinning in the ultra-tight right-hander.
Pace-setters Team France and Team Switzerland both kept their mileage to a minimum. Alexandre Premat went into an escape road on his solitary lap and although he recovered undamaged he did not venture out again.
Neel Jani emerged late for Switzerland, also fitting in a spin before the chequered flag.
