IMEF secures North American partners
The International Motorsport Education Forum, founded by the Motorsport Industry Association in 2002 to develop a co-operative global education network in partnership with companies in the sector, has made significant strides in establishing links with educational establishments overseas after securing research initiatives with two North American universities

The co-chair of the IMEF, Guy Faulkner from the University of Westminster, met with nine institutions, colleges and universities on the MIA's recent trade mission to the NASCAR community in North America.
The result was two specific transatlantic research initiatives between UK education establishments within the IMEF and Clemson University and East Tennessee State University.
Over the past five years the MIA and its industry members have helped 15 universities throughout the UK establish 44 new motorsport-related degree courses.
"Significant progress has been made over recent years to develop new education courses that can help sustain and grow the skills base that underpins the UK's world-leading motorsport sector," Faulkner said. "However, much more needs to be done to involve motorsport businesses of all sizes so that we can better understand the nature and scope of current education and skills requirements.
"Harnessing the support and knowledge of the industry, and sharing our findings with the sector in the USA, will help us make real progress much more quickly."
