Howard out of FRenault
Howard was set to partner Brazilian Ruben Carrapatoso at the Eurotek team, but an 11th-hour problem kept him out of the car. Eurotek owner Billy Oates said: "He's hoping to be out with us for the next round at Brands Hatch, but it depends on cash. It's a shame. Ruben would benefit from a team-mate."
In addition to Howard, Oates is keen to field a third car should a suitably-funded driver be found.
Oates said: "We've got three cars and want to run them all. We have proved we can win races since coming into FRenault in the 2002 Winter Series, and I'm surprised we are having trouble finding drivers."
Nick Goodfellow landed a last-minute deal to contest this year's championship with the Falcon Motorsport team.
Goodfellow, who contested the early rounds of last year's championship with Team JVA before running out of money and dropping out, said: "It's good to be back out there after some time away. I'm pleased to be with Falcon. Hopefully we will get some good results."
