Carter Switches to SEAT
Carter, 22, had planned to move into the British GT Championship, but opted for SEAT saloons instead. Carter, who has experience in Formula Ford and won the Formula 600 Championship in 1999, said: "Circumstances have directed me into the SEAT series. I was hoping to be in GTs, but this is a really good way to go because of the prizes
"I don't have a lot of budget myself and I always struggle to get money together, so the idea of having next year sorted is a good incentive."
Carter tested his Leon Cupra-R for the first time at Donington Park last week, and is confident that he can mix it at the front. "We went the wrong way with the set-up initially, but we made good progress in the afternoon session," said Carter. "The car was well balanced, so it was just a case of fine-tuning it."
Gavin Smith and James Pickford have also re-signed for the championship to take the total number of entries to 13. Smith won his first tin-top race at Rockingham last year, while Pickford recorded several pole positions after switching from sportscars.
