France top Eastern Creek practice

Team France's Loic Duval came out on top of this afternoon's practice session for the A1GP event at Eastern Creek

Duval turned in a quick lap on new tyres early in the session, despite having arrived at the circuit just in time to get in the car. He'd had to rush to the track after completing two days of testing in Japan yesterday.

He will now be looking to convert today's form into a pole position tomorrow and that elusive race victory on Sunday.

Duval headed regular front-runners Robert Wickens (Team Canada), Robbie Kerr (Team Great Britain) and Jonny Reid (Team New Zealand).

Team Lebanon's Chris Alajajian kept up today's good work in the rookie session by coming in fifth-quickest, showing up several of the more fancied runners.

Among them, Michael Ammermuller (Team Germany) had a slow session that ended in the gravel trap, Team Ireland's Adam Carroll wound up last and Team Switzerland's Neel Jani was an uncharacteristic 12th.

Home driver John Martin (Team Australia) was not as impressive as this morning when he topped the rookie session, as he was unable to get the best out of his new tyres at the start of the session. But both he and team boss Alan Jones were happy with his pace over a long run and expect him to contend in qualifying.
