Fittipaldi keen to keep squad intact
A1 Team Brazil boss Emerson Fittipaldi is keen to keep the same squad together for the second season of A1 Grand Prix, including his race operations and drivers
Fittipaldi used F3 Euroseries champions ASM to run the Brazilian car last season, with current GP2 points leader Nelson Piquet Jr driving the majority of races before Emerson's nephew, Christian Fittipaldi, took over when Piquet chose to concentrate on GP2.
Brazil finished sixth in the points standing with two victories, and Fittipaldi is hopeful that all elements will reunite for the second season, which begins in Zandvoort in October.
The double world champion was so enamoured with his A1 engineering staff, that he requested that some be used to work on his GP Masters car in Qatar last month.
"I'd like to have the same guys for A1 next season," Fittipaldi told autosport.com. "I want to keep them.
"I hope I can have Nelson again, because he did a very good job for us, and maybe Christian could possibly do a few races. But I'd like to test some young Brazilian drivers too."
