Ferrari Challenge: Spa races

Dutchman John Bosch and reigning Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli champion Ange Barde won the latest rounds of the class one series at Spa in Belgium on Sunday.

In the first race, held in drenched conditions, Bosch made the best of his wet weather mastery to come from third on the grid to pass poleman Pier Giuseppe Perazzini and early leader Javier Diaz, nudging the latter out of the way at the Bus Stop to take the lead. Diaz finished second close behind Bosch but Perazzini was also passed by Barde, who was demoted to fourth on the grid despite setting the pole time after his car was deemed to be underweight.

For Barde, it was a return to winning ways in race two, as he came from third on the grid to put enormous pressure on fast starter Diaz, forcing an error from the Spaniard and passing him at Stavelot on lap six.

Bosch held off Perazzini and Irishman Michael Cullen in race two to make it the same three drivers on the podium for both races.

In class two, Dutchman Jan Storm won the first race, passing pole-sitter John Greasley on lap four after getting a better run out of the Bus Stop and into La Source.

Briton John Seale won a fierce and highly entertaining battle with countryman Greasley in race two, having started fifth on the grid.
