Dolby calls on Spurs supporters

Superleague Formula frontrunner Craig Dolby has called on Tottenham Hotspur fans to boost his chances of a repeat of his Zolder race win at Donington Park this weekend as the football club-based single-seater series returns to the UK

Dolby and Spurs lie second in the championship coming into Donington, 31 points behind British rivals Liverpool and its Spanish driver Adrian Valles. The teams meet in the Premier League on the opening day of the season next month.

"I'm really revved up for Donington," said Dolby. "Of course I want the Spurs fans to head north up the M1 to support me in their car - that would be a massive boost for me.

"Standing on the winner's rostrum having just won the opening race in Belgium and listening to 'glory, glory Tottenham Hotspur' bellowing out from the speakers was a very emotional moment for me. It's one I'm determined to repeat for the fans on home soil.

"My aim is to be leading the series after the two Donington races - it's definitely achievable the way I'm driving this year."

Donington will also mark the first time the series has employed a standing start, as Sunday's top six super final has dispensed with its rolling start format.

In other news, Scott Mansell replaces Duncan Tappy in the Galatasaray entry and Zolder race two winner Esteban Guerrieri transfers from Al-Ain to returning club Sevilla of Spain.
