DAMS win pole in Lola

The DAMS Lola Judd swept to pole position in today's qualifying session for the second round of the International Sports Racing Series

The car has been fastest all along, setting fastest times
in both free practice sessions as well as dominating qualifying.

Driven by the French trio of Jean-Marc Gounon, Eric Bernard and Christophe
Tinseau, the team set a time of 1:38.069 on the 5.77 km Monza track - over
half a second faster than the reigning ISRS champions, JB Giesse's Emmanuel
Collard and Vincenzo Sospiri.

The Lola led a group of 6 Ferrari 333 SP cars, with the Doran Lista car a
second slower than the JB Giesse car, and the GLV Brums car an excellent
fourth.

Baldi and Redon, in the second JB Giesse car, will start from 6th
place on the grid.

The Ferraris were followed by a three Riley & Scott cars, with the
Judd-engined Target 24 car, driven by Alex Caffi and de Lorenzi, four
hundredths of a second faster than the Ford-powered car, driven by Philippe
Gache and Gary Formato.

In all, 23 cars took part in qualifying, the number 9 Repsol Kremer
Porsche having suffered from a cracked chassis during free practice.

Tomorrow's 500 km race is being held as part of the traditional "1000 km of
Monza", with the FIA GT Championship completing the distance.
