Citroën cleared over Rally GB team orders
Citroën Sport will not be punished by the FIA for instructing driver Sebastien Loeb to put the WRC Manufacturers title before his personal ambitions on Wales Rally GB. Loeb was told to drive for a finish, rather than take risks in fighting for the Drivers championship. FIA president Max Mosley said: "It's not the ideal situation, but there are two competitions going on. They can win the one but not the other, so it's their decision. There's no analogy with F1
"Even if we didn't like it, we couldn't do anything about it, [although] it has taken something away from the rally. It has made it an anti-climax. It is one manufacturer against another in a clear situation, and you can't object to that. All they told Loeb was to make sure nothing happened to him. If he gets the chance to win the rally, they will allow him to do so - but they want to make sure he finishes. That's not quite the same as one or two things we have seen in F1."
