Carpentier quickest at Ohio test

Patrick Carpentier set the fastest time during testing in Ohio yesterday

The Forsythe driver topped times at the Mid-West Ohio Sports Car Course in the first of a two-day test at the road circuit.

A number of teams are testing at Ohio to prepare for the Miller Lite 200 CART round on August 15.

Carpentier recorded a lap time of 1.05.927 seconds at the 2.258-mile course, ahead of Dario Franchitti who put in a 1.05.981.

'We've worked hard in the off-season on road-course testing and we were decent from when we put the car on the track today,' said Carpentier.

'The car was very smooth to drive here.'

JJ Lehto was drafted in yesterday to test for Patrick Racing. He was there to give the team feedback in on its road-course chassis.
