Bourdais fastest in warm-up

Sebastien Bourdais continued to tighten his grip on the Long Beach Grand Prix weekend by topping Sunday morning warm-up session

The French Newman/Haas/Lanigan Racing driver took just 68.911 seconds to lap the 1.968-mile course, and beat RSPORTS' Alex Tagliani by more than 0.3 seconds, as the Canadian continues his strong seam of form this season.

Simon Pagenaud edged Team Australia team-mate Will Power for third, and Bourdais' team-mate Graham Rahal was fifth.

Surprise of the session was Conquest Racing's Matt Halliday who is at last starting to reveal the impressive form he showed in pre-season testing and was sixth in the session.

Meanwhile Oriol Servia, subbing for the injured Paul Tracy at Forsythe Championship Racing, continued the reacquaintance process with the DP01, and went a tenth of a second quicker than team-mate Mario Dominguez to set the eighth-quickest time.

Neel Jani nosed into the tyre wall in the closing moments of the session, breaking the nose wings of his PKV Racing machine.
