Bacheta makes it four from four with victory in second Algarve race

Luciano Bacheta continued his domination of the FIA Formula 2 Championship, completing a double win at Algarve

As with his previous three wins, though, it was by no means easy. In a carbon copy of Saturday's lead battle, he was pushed all the way by Swiss Matheo Tuscher who was never more than 0.6s behind.

The engrossing duel was decided on the penultimate lap, when a lock up from Bacheta was enough to distract Tuscher and send him wide at Turn 10, allowing the Brit to cruise round the final lap to take his fourth win of the season.

Markus Pommer had enough pace to match the leaders, but was stuck behind Christopher Zanella for the first six laps and by the time he got past the two leaders had an insurmountable advantage.

There was an almighty scrap for fifth position, which was ultimately ended in favour of Dino Zamparelli. He battled for the entirety of the race with four other drivers, eventually edging out Daniel McKenzie and Hector Hurst. Kevin Mirocha and Victor Guerin were close in attendance, finishing in eighth and ninth respectively.

Alex Fontana dropped to the back of the field at the start, but recovered to end a disappointing weekend with a tenth place finish.
