Autosport Top 50 of 2025: #29 Kyle Kirkwood
4th in IndyCar
Top 50 Drivers of 2025
Autosport's team of expert journalists got together to try to assess who were the top 50 drivers of 2025. Here are the results.
In a year when the spotlight was on team-mate Colton Herta’s pursuit of Formula 1, Kyle Kirkwood emerged as Andretti Global’s lead driver.
Halfway through 2025, eventual IndyCar champion Alex Palou and Kirkwood were the only drivers to have won races, Kirkwood with three to Palou’s six. But the American could only muster a pair of sixths in the final eight races, dropping from second to fourth in the points. Kirkwood’s three wins tripled Herta’s tally, and he notched his first oval victory at Gateway. Andretti’s hiring of ex-Penske star Will Power should benefit the Floridian moving forward.
