Autosport International

Autosport International is a four-day event motorsport event that includes a two-day trade show for industry professionals and a two-day public show.

Already committed to Autosport International is Ford, celebrating 100 years of motorsport. The famous marque is expected to display a fantastic array of Ford cars from the last century.

Tyre companies Yokohama, Goodyear, Dunlop and Pirelli will be joined by Rockingham Motor Speedway, home to the UK's first ever round of the Champ Car Series to be held in September 2001. Prodrive, who has helped Richard Burns and his Subaru to world championship success, will be providing a showpiece of technical excellence, and Lola is expected to launch a new racing car at the show.

Also, Yamaha has confirmed their support of BIKESPORT, the new area at Autosport dedicated to racing bikes. Yamaha will be showing motocross bikes, trick sports quad bikes, including the 'all-new' Raptor and the YZF 500 Grand Prix bikes. Danish rider, Brian Jorgensen, winner of GP motocross and a contender in the British 125cc Championship will make a guest appearance.

The Motorsport Industry Association (MIA) working with Trade Partners UK will be bringing key buying companies from Japan, Brazil, Mexico and America. As well as visiting Autosport International, the four-nation entourage will be invited to tour racing factories throughout the UK. Companies wishing to host these visitors should contact Alistair Crompton as above. Commenting on the export initiatives, John Kirkpatrick, MD of Jim Russell School said: "Exhibitors regard Autosport International as an accurate barometer of the state of the industry. If we want to continue to lead the world we cannot afford to be complacent, hence the MIA working with these key export missions."
