AP claims brake fluid advance

AP Racing, the British motorsport brake and clutch specialist in Coventry, is claiming that its new PRF 660 high-performance brake fluid has highest boiling point of any front-line racing fluid currently available. Developed specifically for the arduous conditions encountered at the highest levels of motorsport, the new fluid has a 'dry' boiling point of 320degC (608degF), compared with the 300-310degC typically offered by rival fluids

Moisture penetration into a racecar's brake fluid can seriously undermine the capability of its brake system, and to counter this the new PRF 660 fluid has advanced moisture resistance properties. Its viscosity is also said to be among the best in class, making the fluid easier to bleed, while low levels of compressibility ensure optimum pedal efficiency and 'feel'.

Although developed principally for high-end motorsport use, the new brake fluid meets DOT 4 standards and is compatible with all hydraulic brake systems designed to SAE J1703/JI1704 requirements. This makes it suitable for high-performance road cars and modified track-day vehicles.

AP Racing¹s brake fluids are polyalkalene glycol ether based and are ideally suited to racing applications where higher than normal temperatures are experienced. This includes F1 (where carbon/carbon discs are used), rallying and endurance racing, as well as all other instances where technical regulations mean that brake systems are enclosed and cooling can become
problematical (for example, NASCAR stock car racing).
