Andretti to make A1GP debut in China

Marco Andretti will make his A1GP debut with Team USA in the second round of the championship this weekend at Chengdu

The IndyCar driver, son of Andretti Green Racing team boss and A1GP Team USA seatholder Michael, will share seat time this season with AGR teammate Danica Patrick as both seek more experience on street and road courses.

"Getting to race in China is something I'm really looking forward to," said Marco. "Although A1GP is new to AGR, I thought the crew did a great job with the first race.

"They had to put in a lot of effort just to get on track and they were able to get the car up to speed rather quickly.

"There is a possibility that the weather could add another element to the race and that should only make it more challenging for the drivers and more entertaining for the fans."

Team USA are currently tenth in the standings, following Charlie Kimball's eighth and tenth place finishes in the season opener at Zandvoort last month.

Michael Andretti added: "We're pleased that Marco is getting the chance to drive a different car than what he is used to.

"The team have worked hard to make this a successful venture from the very start and I expect Marco to be quick and learn a lot driving the A1GP car."
